The Department of Animal Sciences at Auburn University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer in the area of Equine Sciences. The Lecturer position is a full-time, nine-month non-tenurable teaching appointment that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of funding, needs of the department and college, satisfactory performance. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance. The expected start date for this position is August 16, 2020 Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach foundation classes related to equine sciences and animal sciences. Courses include: Horse Production, Horse Management and Training, Equine Nutrition, Equine Marketing, Physiology of the Equine Athlete, Careers in Animal Science, and Orientation in Animal Sciences. Minimum qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an earned Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Animal Sciences or related field at the time employment begins. The selected individual must meet eligibility requirements for instruction under SACS policies. Equine training, production and management knowledge and/or experience are required. Candidates must have documented experience and/or evidence of the ability to be a successful teacher at the undergraduate level, excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with diverse audiences, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English.
