Salary Salary and rank commensurate with education and experience Job Summary/Basic Function The Horse Science Program in the School of Agriculture at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a 12-month clinical-track faculty position (non-tenurable) in Equine Health at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate students in classroom and laboratory settings related to various aspects of equine management, which may include equine evaluation, exercise physiology, reproduction, or health, as suited to their area of expertise. Strong interpersonal skills are expected, resulting in a valued team member providing leadership, advising skills, and coordination of the Horse Science Master’s degree program. The successful candidate will develop a funded research program with strong teaching and service within their area of equine expertise. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to communicate with students, producers, horse industry personnel, faculty, staff, and youth. Other Desirables Applicants with horse judging team experience will receive special consideration, as well as those with a strong background of working with horses and professional connections in the horse industry.
