The Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Minnesota Crookston invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the Equine Program. This position will deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to students in the Equine Business Management and Equine Science programs to include hands-on and experiential learning. Course topics may include, but not limited to, Equine Management, Equine Evaluation, Equitation Courses, Riding Instructor Training, or Farrier Science. [RESPONSIBILITIES]: Undergraduate academic advising and advise program-related extracurricular clubs; Participate in recruitment, assessment and retention efforts; Assist in enhancing the Equine Business Management degree program; Help expand the network within the equine industry to benefit programs, student experiences and employment opportunities; Candidates who wish to be considered for a tenure-line appointment are expected to establish a research program with an equine-related focus. [MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS]: Doctorate degree or DVM (tenure-track candidates) or Master's degree (Lecturer candidates) in an equine-related field or business, economics, or ag engineering field with an equine focus. knowledge of the equine industry including business management, facility design and management; experience with beginner level riding instruction; Effective communication skills. [PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS]: College-level teaching experience, including teaching hands-on equine courses; University or curriculum development experience; Research experience in an academic institution; Experience developing and maintaining collaborations with relevant industry partners; [APPLICATION]: Review of applications will begin January 23, 2023.
