About our company: Cavalor North America is looking for a Mid Atlantic/ Northeast Outside Territory Sales Manager. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing business in the following states: Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Candidate must be based out of this territory and have the ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory. A love of horses and experience within the equestrian community is a must. This candidate will report to the National Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have a background in the equine industry, experience in sales and dealer support. Major responsibilities will be to work closely with current and potential dealers to increase sales, profits, and customer satisfaction. In addition, they will meet with decision makers within barns and stables to advise them on optimizing their nutrition goals and convert them to Cavalor products. Cavalor is an international equine nutrition company focused on addressing the unique nutritional issues and challenges commonly seen in the horse industry. We do this by offering a complete line of premium horse feed, supplements, and care products. All Cavalor products are specifically formulated using the most recent science and technology in collaboration with experts in the equine nutrition industry. Your mission: You will develop our market share in a growing but heavily competitive market environment. Your territory will include the nine states listed above. We expect the territory to grow aggressively over the next 12-18 months to reach a basic level of market penetration. The desired growth over the first 12 months within the feed segment is 15% and a growth of 12% in supplements and care products. The key objective is to grow within the high-performance show jumping, dressage & eventing while also expanding the base within other equine disciplines. (i.e. reining, barrel racing, endurance and recreational horse owners). Specific responsibilities & duties: • Daily sales calls to existing retail accounts (feed & tack stores). • Prospect and visit potential clients at farms and convert horses to Cavalor. • Identify opportunities for growing sales volume with new stores, farms and veterinarians. • Build client relationships and maximize customer service/satisfaction. • Make nutritional recommendations/feeding plans. • Interact with veterinarians; make presentations for further growth development. • Merchandising in stores to maximize exposure and turnover of products. • Obtain orders, communicate with office. • Reach monthly and quarterly goals for selling and growing the market • Attend equine events such as horse shows, clinics and trade shows - sample products. • Educate store personnel, plan and execute in-store customer demos. Required qualifications/experience: • Minimum 3 years outside sales experience. • Understanding of equine care, nutrition principles, experience in equine or pet industry preferred. • Proven track record of growth, ability to develop new markets and I increase distribution points. • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. • Ability to spend up to 50% overnight travel in assigned territory. • Proficient in using computers, CRM tools, spreadsheets, outlook, etc. IMPORTANT: Ideal candidate would have some experience riding, owning, training horses or working within the industry. In addition, knowledge of the feed & tack stores in the region, equine events to attend, high level riders. Offered salary & other compensation: • Total income could range from $60-75k depending on experience and monthly sales. • Commission is paid on Year over Year growth of Feed tonnage and Supplement/Care revenue. • Health, dental, vision, life insurance & 401k available through company plans. • 10 days PTO. • Expenses such as lodging, car allowance, meals, office expenses, etc.
