Wilson College has an immediate opening for a full-time, Hunt Seat Coach/Instructor that will provide overall excellence in leading the competitive varsity Hunt Seat team, as well as providing instruction in a variety of equitation courses. This is one of two positions being added to a growing program. The Hunt Seat Coach/Instructor will have a dual appointment between the Equine Studies academic program and the Athletics department. Key responsibilities will include coaching members of the IHSA team, schooling and overseeing the schooling of horses for the hunt seat program and teaching 2-3 hunter/jumper equitation courses per semester. Additionally, the successful candidate will maintain required academic records from courses and participate in academic department activities. Established in 1869, Wilson College’s 300-acre campus, with an on-campus equestrian center that includes two indoor arenas, one outdoor area and three barns, is located in the beautiful Cumberland Valley of south-central PA and is within easy driving distance to Baltimore and Washington, DC. More information is available at www.wilson.edu. Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) and demonstrated successful collegiate Hunt Seat coaching, recruiting, and riding experience. Experience teaching at the college level, including curriculum development, desired. Valid driver’s license, and background check clearance required.
