Be sure to identify yourself as part of the EQUINE SCIENCE SOCIETY's Group. The hotel will require a credit card deposit in the amount of one night at the Group Rate ($184/night) plus applicable taxes at the time of booking. Reservations include complimentary in-room WiFi. 

The deadline to make hotel reservations is Monday, April 26, 2027. Book early, as there will be another conference using Hershey Lodge at the same time as the ESS Symposium.

TRANSPORTATION

Airports
The closest airport is Harrisburg International Airport. The airport is 10-miles, or a 20- to 30-minute drive to the Hershey Lodge by car. Hershey Lodge offers an airport shuttle service for $45 each way for a group of up to 4 guests. For more than 4 people, the fee is an added $10 for each additional guest (2026 pricing).

The next closest and larger airports are Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) or Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), both of which are approximately a 2-hour drive by car.

Trains from Airports
From the Philadelphia International Airport, Amtrak provides train service between Philadelphia 30^th St Station (not the airport) and Harrisburg on the Keystone line. 

• First, SEPTA from PHL airport to 30^th St Station (Airport Regional Rail Line)
  • 2026 fare is $11 if you pay onboard, $8.75 if you buy your ticket at a kiosk.
  • 20 minutes
• Then, Amtrak from 30^th St Station to Downtown Harrisburg
  • 2026 fare is approximately $40
  • About 2 hours
• Ride share (Lyft/Uber) from the Amtrak Station to Hershey Lodge

From the Baltimore Airport, Amtrak provides service on the Northeast Regional and Keystone lines.

• FIrst, MTA from BWI airport to Mt Royal/Mica stop
  • 2026 fare is $2
  • 40 min
• Walk 2 blocks to Baltimore Penn Station
• Then, Amtrak from Baltimore Penn Station to Harrisburg. This is a 2-segment trip.

  • 3.5 to 6 hours
• Ride share (Lyft/Uber) to Hershey Lodge

Getting Around Hershey

There is a free shuttle service that runs from the Lodge to Hersheypark when the park is open. It also provides access to adjacent Chocolate World and Hersheypark Stadium (but not Giant Center--you can still walk there).

The Lodge also offers complimentary local transportation within a 5-mile radius for up to 4 guests. Larger groups cost $10 per guest for the shuttle (2026 pricing). This can get you to many of the local restaurants. Check with the front desk ahead of time. Uber and Lyft also operate within the area.
